Therapists Wanted for a Growing Private Practice – Multiple Locations on Long Island!
If you have a degree in social work, counseling, or a related field and you’re ready to build a meaningful career in mental health, consider joining the team at Long Island Counseling.
LIC is a large, established private practice with five locations across Long Island — East Meadow, Melville, Huntington, Rockville Centre, and Jericho. We serve adults, teens, children, and couples across a wide range of conditions and treatment approaches, and we’re looking for passionate clinicians who are ready to do real, lasting work with clients who need them.
If you’re the kind of person who got into this field because you genuinely want to help people — and you’re looking for a practice that shares that commitment — we want you to apply.
Who We Are
Long Island Counseling is a compassionate, clinician-led practice serving individuals and families throughout Long Island. Our team works with clients facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, OCD, eating disorders, relationship challenges, and much more. We use a wide range of evidence-based modalities — including CBT, DBT, EMDR, trauma-informed care, IFS, and play therapy — so our clinicians have the flexibility to work in ways that align with their training and strengths.
With five in-person locations and a robust teletherapy program, LIC has built a structure that makes it easy for therapists to focus on what matters: their clients. We are a team in the truest sense, and we take that seriously.
Who YOU Are
We’re looking for licensed or license-eligible therapists with a master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. LMSWs, LCSWs, LMHCs, and those working toward licensure are all encouraged to apply.
The best candidates tend to share a few things in common:
- Genuine Passion for the Work — You became a therapist because you care, not because it was convenient.
- Flexibility Across Populations — You’re open to working with a mix of adults, teens, children, or couples depending on your background and interests.
- A Collaborative Mindset — You want to be part of a team, not working in isolation.
- Readiness to Grow — Whether you’re newly licensed or a few years in, you’re looking for a practice that will invest in your development.
We have openings across multiple locations and can discuss placement based on where you live and what works best for your schedule.
Why Work With Us?
LIC takes care of its clinicians. When you join our team, you can expect:
- Competitive Compensation — Structured to reflect your experience and licensure level.
- Built-In Caseload — You’ll have clients from day one, so you can focus on the work rather than building a private practice from scratch.
- Diverse Clinical Experience — Work with a wide variety of presentations, ages, and modalities across a well-established practice.
- Supportive Team Environment — Collaborate with experienced clinicians who are invested in your success.
- Flexible Scheduling — Including teletherapy options for those who need additional flexibility.
Above all, this is genuinely meaningful work. Our therapists come to work knowing they’re making a real difference — session by session, client by client. That’s not something every job can offer.
